Basketball Recap: Rockwall-Heath Comes Up Short

The Rockwall-Heath Hawks lost 77-51 to the St. Francis Knights on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 411th in Texas, while the Knights are ranked sixth in Georgia).

Desi Taylor was her usual excellent self, shooting 6-for-10 from deep and dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten assists for St. Francis. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted eight or more assists the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was G Rogers, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and five steals.

Rockwall-Heath has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for St. Francis, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Rockwall-Heath will be playing in front of their home fans against Longview at 1:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for St. Francis, they will take on Cardinal Mooney in a tournament on January 4, 2025. St. Francis knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Cardinal Mooney likes a good challenge.
