Basketball Recap: Lynchburg HomeSchool Comes Up Short

If Lynchburg HomeSchool was riding high fresh off their 53-27 takedown of Timberlake Christian last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lynchburg HomeSchool Patriots lost 63-43 to the State Line HomeSchool R Rush on Saturday. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Rush recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

State Line HomeSchool R's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ellie Gillespie, who went 8 for 18 en route to 20 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Gillespie a new career-high in points. Aden Clark was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Lynchburg HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for State Line HomeSchool R, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Lynchburg HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for State Line HomeSchool R, they will host NC H at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
