Cochranton is a perfect 10-0 against Maplewood since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cardinals will be home for the holidays to greet the Tigers at 7:15 p.m. Cochranton will be strutting in after a victory while Maplewood will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Cochranton got the win against Sharpsville by a conclusive 74-52.

Cochranton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Walker Carroll, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 20 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. CJ Shorts was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Cochranton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Maplewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Fort LeBoeuf, falling 75-38. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-27.

Maplewood's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cochranton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything came up roses for Cochranton against Maplewood when the teams last played back in February, as the squad secured a 69-39 win. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
