Football Recap: Mount Juliet Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mount Juliet and Cookeville pushed the score to 38-21 the last time they played Cookeville, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Golden Bears fell 17-10 to the Cavaliers. The contest was a 3-3 toss-up at halftime, but the Golden Bears couldn't quite close it out.

Cookeville was led to victory by Blake Barrett and Jackson Jones. Barrett rushed for 127 yards and one score, while Jones rushed for 15 yards and one TD.

Mount Juliet's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Cookeville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Mount Juliet will be playing at home against Green Hill on Thursday. As for Cookeville, they will challenge Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' defense has only allowed 12.4 points per game this season, so the Cavaliers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
