Basketball Game Preview: Richmond Heights Spartans vs. West Geauga Wolverines

The Richmond Heights Spartans will venture away from home to challenge the West Geauga Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Geauga took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Richmond Heights, who comes in off a win.

Richmond Heights is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Villa Angela-St. Joseph: they outscored them in every quarter. Everything went Richmond Heights' way against Villa Angela-St. Joseph on Sunday as Richmond Heights made off with a 59-34 victory. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, West Geauga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 57-44 to Berkshire.

West Geauga's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Richmond Heights, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Richmond Heights took their victory against West Geauga when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 56-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richmond Heights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
