Baseball Recap: Union Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

While Union Academy's win against NorthPoint Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Union Academy Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cardinals as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Christian Pawl, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Ethan Edwards was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Union Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Union Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Charlotte Latin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Charlotte Latin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Ambassador Christian School at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Ambassador Christian School has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.83 runs per game on average), something NorthPoint Christian Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
