Basketball Game Preview: Denair Coyotes vs. Le Grand Bulldogs

The Denair Coyotes and the Le Grand Bulldogs will meet in a canine-themed contest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Denair knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Le Grand likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Denair against Valley as the squad secured a 69-27 win. The Coyotes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Koby Cervantes was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Salvador Virgen, who posted six points along with six steals and five boards.

Meanwhile, Le Grand was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 72-36 loss at the hands of Delhi.

Denair is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 43.3 points. As for Le Grand, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Denair came up short against Le Grand in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 49-37. Can Denair avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
