Connersville is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Rushville a six-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. The Connersville Spartans will look to defend their home field against the Rushville Lions at 5:30 p.m. Rushville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Connersville, who comes in off a win.
Connersville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They had just enough and edged out Franklin County 10-8.

Jade Green made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josey Selby, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Carmen Ruble was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
Connersville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Rushville was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They lost 11-1 to Lawrenceburg.
Rushville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyleigh Glandon, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Connersville's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Rushville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Connersville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Rushville struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Connersville's way against Rushville when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Connersville made off with a 12-1 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
