It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Wayne ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 55-49 win over the Cedar Catholic Trojans. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Wayne's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colson Nelsen, who posted 16 points and three steals. What's more, Nelsen also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Kaden Keller, who put up 14 points and eight boards.

Wayne's record is now 18-2. As for Cedar Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Coming up, Wayne won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Boone Central at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Boone Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Cedar Catholic, they will take on Elkhorn Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkhorn Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.
