Basketball Recap: Taravella's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Taravella suffered their closest defeat since December 10, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Coral Glades Jaguars by a score of 53-50. The Trojans have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Taravella lost, don't look at Nick Florea. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 13 en route to 20 points and five boards. Terry Ettiene was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Coral Glades found their leader in sophomore Gavin Reed, who posted 17 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Swain, who earned ten points and six rebounds.

Taravella's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8. As for Coral Glades, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
