Recap: Lake City Panthers vs. Darlington Falcons
The Lake City Panthers lost against the Darlington Falcons back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lake City fell to Darlington 55-50. Lake City has struggled against Darlington recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Lake City's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Hannah Riles, who scored 17 points along with five assists, and Trayana Burgess who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burgess has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Na'Shira Starks, who scored five points.
Lake City bumped their record down to 6-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Darlington, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake City will take on Crestwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Crestwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Tuesday. As for Darlington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marlboro County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Marlboro County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
