Softball Recap: San Gorgonio Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jurupa Hills, San Gorgonio was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 15-10 win over the Arroyo Valley Hawks. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Hawks back in April, they had to take a 6-0 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Jasmine Morfin, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mylia Laban, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: San Gorgonio kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

San Gorgonio's record now sits at 5-22. As for Arroyo Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

As of now, neither San Gorgonio nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
