Baseball Recap: Urbana Takes a Loss

Urbana was the 6-2 winner over Carroll when they last played one another back in April of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Hillclimbers fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday. The Hillclimbers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shane Hoffman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Urbana: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kevin Endres, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Urbana's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Carroll, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Urbana will square off against Bethel at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Carroll, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stebbins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
