Whitesboro came into Friday's game looking for another win against Commerce, but Aidan Brown wouldn't allow it. The Tigers walked away with a 35-28 victory over the Bearcats on Friday for which the team can thank Brown, who rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 227 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes. Brown is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 131 every time he's taken the field this season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Commerce's defense and their three sacks. Jordan Walker was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Despite the loss, Whitesboro still got an impressive performance from Colt Fagan, who rushed for 75 yards and two scores, and also threw for 210 yards and one TD. The Bearcats also got help from Camron Howard, who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.

Commerce now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Whitesboro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Commerce wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 51-13 win against Winnsboro on the 26th. As for Whitesboro, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Life Oak Cliff at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Bearcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
