Football Recap: Berean Christian Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Berean Christian lost 34-14 to Redwood Christian. Berean Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Redwood Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Berean Christian lost, don't look at Christian Smith. Despite the final result, he threw for 188 yards and one TD.

Redwood Christian was led to victory by Landon Devoe-Krowicki and Elijah Pineda. Devoe-Krowicki gained 131 total yards and three touchdowns, while Pineda threw for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes. Those 137 passing yards gave Pineda a new career-high.

Berean Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Redwood Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Berean Christian will host King's Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights' defense has only allowed 7.2 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Redwood Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Redwood Christian is facing Kennedy at the right time seeing as Kennedy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
