Soccer Recap: Purcell Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 goals the game before, Purcell was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against the Christian Heritage Crusaders, falling 8-0. If Purcell were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to Christian Heritage when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Purcell has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13-1 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those five games. As for Christian Heritage, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Purcell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christian Heritage, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 5-1 victory against Mount St. Mary on the 5th.
