Football Game Preview: Pattonsburg Panthers vs. Worth County/Northeast Nodaway Tigers

Pattonsburg is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Worth County/Northeast Nodaway is on a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Panthers will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pattonsburg is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: St. Joseph Christian, who was ranked 20th at the time (Pattonsburg was ranked seventh). Pattonsburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wyatt Maize led the charge by rushing for 160 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries, while also picking up 55 receiving yards and one score. Maize also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss). Gage Fortner was another key signal caller, throwing for 226 yards and six touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Worth County/Northeast Nodaway won against St. Joseph Christian last Friday with 72 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Tigers breezed past Stanberry to the tune of 72-0.

Pattonsburg's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Worth County/Northeast Nodaway, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
