South and North are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Rebels will head out on the road to take on the Rangers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

South managed to slip by Chardon the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rebels came up short against the Hilltoppers on Thursday, falling 11-4.

Meanwhile, North hadn't done well against Riverside recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Rangers were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Beavers. Considering the Rangers have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyler Leasure spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Pennza, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of North's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Keough, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

South's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for North, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-7.

South came up short against North in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
