Softball Recap: Sebring Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lakeland

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sebring walked away with it. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Lakeland Dreadnaughts on Tuesday. The Blue Streaks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kamryn Hackett was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Layla Davis was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Sebring hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matches.

Sebring is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeland, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-13.

Looking ahead, Sebring will challenge Auburndale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
