McLean County came tearing into Monday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Henderson County Colonels. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Houston Whitaker was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jax Lee, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

McLean County's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Henderson County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Looking ahead, McLean County will venture away from home to challenge Ohio County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Henderson County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Webster County at 5:30 p.m. The Colonels will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Trojans will have lost four straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
