Basketball Recap: Grasso Tech Piles Up the Points Against Platt RVT

Grasso Tech had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 106-53 victory over the Platt RVT Panthers. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Grasso Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julius Washington led the charge by going 10-for-21 to rack up 25 points and seven steals. The matchup was Washington's 19th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taqiyyi (Taki) Bates, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and six steals.

Grasso Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 31 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Grasso Tech's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Platt RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
