Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Notre Dame Academy

Notre Dame Academy extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Jazlynn Brown. The Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds blew past the Cottage Cougars, posting a 63-28 win thanks in part to Brown, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 30 rebounds. Her afternoon made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Maldonado, who posted five points along with eight boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Cottage lost on Wednesday, don't look at Gabby Pressnall. Despite the final result, she put up 13 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Malia Richards, who had six points and five rebounds.

Notre Dame Academy pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.7 points. As for Cottage, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5.

Notre Dame Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-36 defeat against Bethlehem Christian Academy on the 19th. As for Cottage, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Covenant Christian Academy at 4:15 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
