Basketball Recap: Aubrey Branan Key Part of a Team Effort in Buccaneers Win

Briarwood Academy won the last time they faced David Emanuel Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Briarwood Academy Buccaneers snuck past the David Emanuel Academy Eagles with a 41-35 win. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Eagles are ranked 483rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Briarwood Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrey Branan, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carolina Crawley, who put up six points.

Briarwood Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 26 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
