Softball Recap: Pine Lake Prep Drops Highest Score of Season Against Bradford Prep

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pine Lake Prep). They blew past the Bradford Prep Bears 18-3 on Tuesday. Considering the Pride have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kristen Armstrong was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Pine Lake Prep got a massive performance out of Ava Cornacchione, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Cornacchione a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Jensen, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles.

Pine Lake Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Pine Lake Prep's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Bradford Prep, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Pine Lake Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bears: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
