Basketball Recap: Sisalee Miller and Carmayla Jackson Secure Win for Silas

On Saturday, the Silas Rams didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Decatur Golden Gators, but they still walked away with a 43-38 victory.

Silas was led to victory by Carmayla Jackson and Sisalee Miller. Jackson posted eight points along with 13 boards and five blocks, while Miller had 16 points. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in blocks.

Silas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.

Decatur lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Iyanna Waltar, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Waltar is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeralynn Sevaaetasi, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Silas' win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Decatur, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Silas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-16 victory against Mount Tahoma on the 21st. As for Decatur, they will welcome Federal Way at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
