Basketball Game Preview: Priest River Spartans vs. Grangeville Bulldogs

The Priest River Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Grangeville Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Priest River will head into Thursday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 31-point drubbing they dealt Clark Fork last Thursday. Priest River really took it to Clark Fork for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-27 victory. The game marked the Spartans' most dominant win of the season.

Priest River's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sawyer Stoudt, who posted 15 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Nate Stiffel, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Grangeville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 69-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Timberlake.

Priest River's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Grangeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Priest River didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Grangeville when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 60-56 win.
