Football Recap: Dublin Gaels vs. Summit Shasta Black Bears        
        
		
             Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Dublin). They blew past the Summit Shasta Black Bears 47-6 at home  on Monday. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Gaels as it put an end to their 15-game losing streak dating back to last season.
  Samantha Botell had a dynamite game for Dublin, throwing for 227 yards and five touchdowns while completing 77.3% of her passes.
 Dublin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over.  Taylor Sullivan picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
 Dublin's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-14. As for Summit Shasta, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dublin will venture away from home to  challenge Dougherty Valley  at 7:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Dougherty Valley has lost three straight at home , while Dublin has lost seven on the road. As for Summit Shasta, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Hillsdale at 11:00  a.m.  on October 19th.
