Vestavia Hills is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Hoover, who was ranked third at the time (Vestavia Hills was ranked second). Vestavia Hills took a hard 50-36 fall against Hoover on Tuesday. The Rebels' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Hewitt-Trussville came into Tuesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Oak Mountain, posting a 71-22 win. That 49 point margin sets a new team best for the Huskies this season.

Vestavia Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 19-2. As for Hewitt-Trussville, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-8.
