Football Recap: Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Starts off Right with Win over Shenandoah Valley

Columbia Montour Vo-Tech had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils 38-19 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Tyson Brown went supernova, rushing for 163 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Those 163 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Myles Koser was another key player, throwing for 185 yards and one TD on only 15 passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Columbia Montour Vo-Tech was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 207 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 207 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Another reason for the win was Columbia Montour Vo-Tech's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Brown was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Axton Koser got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Columbia Montour Vo-Tech will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Morrisville at 1:00 p.m. As for Shenandoah Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Minersville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Blue Devils' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
