Softball Recap: Elk Mound Comes Up Short

After flying high against Thorp last Thursday, Elk Mound came back down to earth. The Mounders fell just short of the Neillsville/Granton Warriors by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Mounders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kendra Garnett made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Kopp, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Elk Mound's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Neillsville/Granton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Elk Mound nor Neillsville/Granton have any future games scheduled.
