Baseball Recap: Jesuit Finds Playoff Glory Versus Countryside

Jesuit had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Countryside Cougars get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Tuesday. Give the Tigers' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

The team relied heavily on Ben Burke, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Jesuit has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.4 runs. As for Countryside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-10.

As of now, neither Jesuit nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
