San Pedro is a perfect 3-0 against Verdugo Hills since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Pirates will take on the Dons at 3:00 p.m. San Pedro is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
San Pedro is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hamilton an 11-0 shutout.
Anthony Solis made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because San Pedro is 7-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-11 otherwise. Solis was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, San Pedro got a massive performance out of Tyrus Wilson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Wilson a new career-high. Braydon Griffin was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Verdugo Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They skirted past Legacy 2-0.
The result came thanks to D'Angelo Duran's shutout, as he gave up just three hits.
At the plate, Cutlor Gouger-Fannon was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Verdugo Hills' record is now 12-16. As for San Pedro, the win got them back to even at 14-14.
San Pedro took their victory against Verdugo Hills when the teams last played back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 16-2 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
