Basketball Recap: Gaffney Takes a Loss

Gaffney lost against Fort Mill last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Gaffney Indians came up short against the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets, falling 67-46. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 13th).

Fort Mill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nas Berry, who went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Parker, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Gaffney's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Fort Mill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gaffney will take on Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Mill, they will venture away from home to square off against Providence at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fort Mill's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.
