Baseball Recap: Normandy Invaders vs. Elyria Pioneers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lakewood, Normandy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Elyria Pioneers by a score of 5-1. For the Invaders, this counts as revenge for the 10-4 victory the Pioneers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2021.
Dillon Vargo tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over six innings pitched.
At the plate, Lukas Steele was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Peyton Wolf also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
