Softball Recap: Wharton Takes a Loss

Wharton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Van Vleck Leopards, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Leopards this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 two weeks ago.

Wharton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was A Fojtik, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Another was G Velasquez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Wharton's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Van Vleck, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Wharton will be taking part in a tournament against Hill Country Christian School of Austin at 11:15 a.m. on Friday. As for Van Vleck, they will take on Flatonia at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
