Softball Game Preview: Woodsville Engineers vs. Pittsburg Panthers

The Woodsville Engineers will take on the Pittsburg Panthers on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Woodsville comes in on 12 and Pittsburg on 13.

Woodsville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Pittsfield get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The one-run effort marked the Engineers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Pittsburg faced Newmarket in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Mules.

Woodsville's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Pittsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.

Woodsville was able to grind out a solid win over Pittsburg in their previous matchup back in May, winning 5-1. Will the Engineers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
