It was a good run, but Baxter Springs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Frontenac Raiders by a score of 2-1. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Baxter Springs started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-21, 25-18.

Sadie Miller paced Baxter Springs' offense, picking up eight kills. Miller got some help from Sam Sheffer and her 24 assists. Olivia Comer controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Frontenac found their leader in sophomore Laynee Shay, who had 14 digs and two aces. Shay has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Baxter Springs' loss dropped their record down to 24-14. As for Frontenac, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 21-14-1 record.

Baxter Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Frontenac, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Columbus on the 14th.
