Softball Recap: Midway Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hume, Midway was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 16-11 win over the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Tigers back in March, they had to take a 12-11 loss.

Bristol Burkart was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laicey Anderson, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

Midway has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Wellington-Napoleon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

As of now, neither Midway nor Wellington-Napoleon have any future games scheduled.
