Softball Recap: Paradise Bobcats vs. Central Valley Falcons
Paradise suffered their biggest defeat since April 24, 2024 on Friday. They lost 20-10 to the Central Valley Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 on Friday.

Grace Meldrum put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Danica Clausen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Sequoya Fields was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Even though they lost, Paradise kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Paradise now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Central Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
