Softball Game Preview: Wharton Wildcats vs. Chamberlain Storm

The Wharton Wildcats will head out to take on the Chamberlain Storm at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wharton is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Wharton took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Riverview, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Sharks on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted against the Sharks since February 9, 2016.

Chamberlain couldn't beat Plant on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Storm lost 19-4 to the Panthers.

Wharton's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Chamberlain, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Wharton beat Chamberlain 5-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
