Baseball Recap: Nucla Comes Up Short

Nucla extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 7-7 in the process. They lost 14-2 to the Ignacio Bobcats. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Nucla saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson McCabe, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Ignacio, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Ignacio's side, William M was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave M a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stoney W, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nucla will face off against Sierra Grande at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Ignacio, they will square off against Center at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
