St. Paul is 9-1 against Monroeville since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Flyers will host the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. St. Paul is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.

St. Paul is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering New London just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The game marked the Flyers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

St. Paul saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Snyder, who went 1-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, Monroeville hadn't done well against Mapleton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mounties a 12-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Monroeville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for St. Paul, their loss dropped their record down to 16-3.

St. Paul was able to grind out a solid victory over Monroeville in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 8-4. Will the Flyers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
