Preview: Dunham Tigers vs. Live Oak Eagles
The Dunham Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Live Oak Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dunham is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Live Oak in Louisiana (Dunham is ranked 15th, while Live Oak is ranked 69th).
Dunham unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Thomas More. Dunham has struggled against St. Thomas More recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Live Oak has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 28 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 64-36 win over Belaire at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Live Oak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Live Oak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Clayten Ray, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Nate Casher iv, who scored 14 points.
Dunham's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2. As for Live Oak, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Dunham came up short against Live Oak when the teams last played back in January, falling 48-40. Can Dunham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
