Baseball Recap: Lakewood Drops Highest Score of Season Against Union

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakewood). They never let the Union Spartans get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Tuesday. The Leopards haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Aden Norton was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Seth Faircloth was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Lakewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lakewood picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-5. As for Union, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Lakewood will head out on the road to face off against North Duplin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Rosewood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rosewood will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Union surely won't give up without a fight.
