After each having a week off, the Griffin Bears and the Lithonia Bulldogs will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Griffin is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Mundy's Mill: they outscored them in every quarter. The Bears enjoyed a cozy 30-12 victory over the Tigers on Friday. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Tigers are ranked 334th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lithonia). They really took it to Clarkston for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Angoras: they've now won three in a row.
Griffin better keep an eye on Xavier Butler. He was instrumental in Lithonia's win, rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 25 yards and a pair of TDs.
