Volleyball Recap: Clarkson/Leigh's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of four wins, Clarkson/Leigh's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 3-1 to the Oakland-Craig Knights. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Clarkson/Leigh started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-19, 25-23, 27-25.

Maizie Stoklasa paced Clarkson/Leigh's offense, picking up 20 kills. Stoklasa got some help from Kendall Schneider and her 35 assists. Ava Kasik and Claire Holoubek kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Oakland-Craig was led to victory by Madeline Pearson and Briar Ray. Pearson had 15 digs and three assists, while Ray had 28 kills, 16 digs, and two aces. Ray is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 53 games she's played dating back to last season.

Clarkson/Leigh's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Oakland-Craig, their victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-6.

Clarkson/Leigh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Stanton on the 18th. Oakland-Craig does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
