Basketball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 53-39 bruising from the Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets. The Comets were not able to make up for their loss to the Fighting Hornets from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Elgin's record now sits at 2-10. As for Cory-Rawson, with the victory, they broke their 15-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-12.

Elgin will take on Vanlue at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cory-Rawson, they will square off against Waynesfield-Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Cory-Rawson has lost nine straight at home (dating back to last season), while Waynesfield-Goshen has lost four on the road.
