Softball Recap: Greenon Victorious

Greenon posted their closest win since April 20, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Chaminade Julienne Catholic Eagles 12-10. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 12-11 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Haley Ivon was a standout: she scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sophie Blessing was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Greenon has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 3-1 Cedarville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.3% over those games). As for Chaminade Julienne Catholic, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Greenon will square off against Cedarville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chaminade Julienne Catholic, they will take on Springfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
