Palmetto and Crescent are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Palmetto heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Friday. They came up short against West-Oak, falling 8-1. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Carrigan Holbert was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Crescent faced Belton-Honea Path in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers lost 11-4 to the Bears. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Crescent's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Palmetto, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.

Palmetto came out on top in a nail-biter against Crescent in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
