Baseball Recap: Mira Monte Lions vs. Farmersville Aztecs
Mira Monte proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by eight) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Farmersville Aztecs 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since April 10, 2024.
Anthony Burgueno made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Burgueno was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
